Facilities

NOTAM users have access to the following facilities:

  • Studio Nordheim for audio recording, mixing, monitoring and mastering
  • Lab Abel for sound programming, editing and other computer work on Mac OS X or Linux machines
  • NOTAM Forum (the large area when entering our premises) for testing of concert set-ups or for presentations
  • A small “tech corner” where one can work with electronics, soldering, etc.
  • A kitchen where one can prepare coffee/tea and eat one’s meals

NOTAM’s staff have adopted the motto “no questions are too stupid.” If you are working at NOTAM as a user and are stuck with a problem, don’t hesitate to ask our employees. It can save you a lot of work and frustration. Besides, it could be educational – also for us.

Lab Abel

The user terminals Bruno, Maurice, Milton, Walter, Iannis, Leon, Olivier run both Mac OSX and Linux. The machine are of the type Minimac 1.82 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, 2 GB RAM with M-audio Fast Track Pro sound cards, and are set up with Beyer Dynamic DT 250 headphones. The lab computers share the same discs for audio.
