Rory is a Tokyo-based experimental sound artist whose work deals with sound synaesthesia, social understanding and re-figuring data in society. He visited Notam between the 16th and the 24th of Oct, and gave a talk on his praksis with sound synaesthesia and sonification of data while he was here.

This is the finished piece “Deaths by overdose in Norway” on which he started working while visiting our studios. The materials for the sonification is the world record-breaking numbers of people dying from overdoses in “the world’s best country to live in“, Norway.
